Our chalks and art supplies are produced by Germany’s oldest and largest chalk factory, founded in 1870 by Anton Franz Mörtel and still owned and run by the Mörtel family five generations later. The materials used are extremely pure and of the best quality and reliability.

**UPDATE**  After 150 years, the factory is closing (late 2021).  We have bought the available stock and will continue to offer it until it runs out.  You may start to see your favorites disappear, we're very sorry.
