Trays

These trays are made by hand in a small Florentine workshop by Paolo Carandini (it is his silhouette shown on the back of each tray). The leather bases are vegetable-dyed Tuscan leather, worked to a shine with a brunitoio, a very traditional type of iron burnisher. The surrealistic fabric was designed by Stig Lindberg in 1947 and is hand-printed in Sweden on dirt-repellent linen. Each corner is tied with a small red piece of leather.
